Featuring a magnificent rosecut yellow diamond it dates from the 1700s, is Dutch in origin and an absolute beauty. Completely and skilfully hand cut (you can see the rough edges of the stone), it measures a whopping 10.6 x 8.2mm. Beautifully faceted with it little peak at the top, rosecut diamonds have a flat bottom and cut in such a way to shimmer in candle light. The diamond facets create a stunning glow and give out such a sparkle!
The diamond would have originally been foiled back and very like collet set in its original form. It has been re-imagined and reset in a 9ct yellow gold shank and claw set in silver. The shank is sturdy and beautifully engraved, solid gold, with the diamond set open backed to make it more wearable.
