This is a superb antique three stone opal and old cut diamond ring, set in 18ct gold and dating from the Victorian era.
Set with three natural oval cabochon opals and four old cut diamonds, it is in beautiful condition.
The quality and condition of the opals is stunning - full of light and fire, they have an amazing play of colour. Very difficult to pick one colour to single out, it’s truly the full spectrum of a rainbow, with very strong reds, blues, yellows and greens.
The centre opal cabochon is approx .70ct, measures 6.3 x 5mm and the two opals on the sides measure 4.4 x 3mm. The four old cut diamonds twinkle beautifully, have lovely colour and clarity and weigh a total of 0.12ct. They have lovely little puffy crowns under magnification and are extremely sparkly! The face of the ring measures 17.3mm wide. Securely claw set and just lovely condition! The shank is sturdy with a beautiful warm butter gold patina to it.
Size: N/US6.75 (resizable with care)
Hallmarked, Birmingham Assay, 18ct, date letter rubbed off.
