This is such a pretty opal ring, set in 18ct yellow gold and dating from the early 1900s.

Featuring a long oval opal, that exhibits colourful patches and wonderful plays of orange, red and green as it moves around the light, it is great size measuring 14.9 x 7.6mm. Completely in love with the way this has been set! It sits low on the finger within a beautiful crown setting secured by a lovely “basket” of prongs. With split shoulders, the shank is solid and of good thickness, no evidence of resize that I can see.

Size: N.5/US7 (resizable)

Stamped 18ct

In very good antique condition, no abrasions or damage to the opal. A beautifully simple and classic design, all the more so, by the wonderful way it’s been set to highlight the stone.
