A truly wonderful antique garnet half hoop, dating from the Georgian era and crafted in lush 15ct gold.
Featuring five stunning table cut garnets, with gorgeous vibrant and rich raspberry-pink hues, they are set in an intricately pierced gallery leading to decorated scrolled shoulders. Crafted in 15ct gold with lovely old patina, the setting measures 15.2mm across and 6.2mm wide and rests lovely and low on the finger. In very good antique condition, with some minor wear visible under magnification, I particularly love the different shapes of these stones, a mix of elongated and square, with their lovely display of deep saturated pinky burgundy colours. A juicy set of berries on the finger and one that will look great stacked against gold bands or worn on its own. This is such an exquisite example, so rare to come across one that has all its original stones and has been so well looked after for 235 years.
