A fabulous and impressive ring, dated circa 1950s, most likely custom made and crafted in solid 14ct gold.
Featuring a foliate pattern of stems and leaves, it reminds me of a giardinetti ring and has a scattering of lovely high peaked peruzzi diamonds and a single pigeon blood ruby as the flower accents. All natural stones, the diamonds have lovely high crowns. Impressive in size, the head of the ring measures 21.3 x 19.3mm and features an elaborate pattern of swirls throughout the gallery, extending to the shoulders. The rest of the shank is plain and thick, measuring 4.1mm. Crafted in solid gold, it weighs an impressive 9g so with a lovely, comfortable weighty feel when worn. Overall, in good vintage condition, there’s evidence of resizing to the back of the shank, not noticeable when worn, the ruby has a tiny nibble to it, again not noticeable when worn.
