A rather wonderful moonstone and sapphire cabochon ring, dated from the early Edwardian period.
Set with five alternating moonstone and sapphire gemstones, this beautiful half hoop is set in 9ct rose gold. The moonstones have lovely adularesence with a glowing shimmer as they catch the light. Nestled in between them are two natural sapphire cabochon stones, making it an unusual combination and a rather unique one for that! The setting measures 19mm wide and rises 3.5mm off the finger. In good antique condition with normal expected wear for an antique piece, there’s evidence of historical resizing, though this is not noticeable when worn. A great ring that can easily be stacked with bands as it has a nice low profile and equally beautiful all on its own. The stones really stand out on this, I love it!
