I literally gasped (inside) when I saw this ring sitting in the shop’s cabinet (without a price tag). I circled around the other cabinets not even looking properly, knowing I had just found THE ring I had to bring home with me….whilst also trying to remember if I had a decent remaining balance on my cc…
Anyway, deed done and here we have it! Everything about this ring is mesmerising. The elongated “old cushion shaped rose cut” - a large diamond with a crystal clear shimmering surface, has beautiful clarity and presence. Featuring swirly sun or even star engraved details on the shoulders, I have a feeling the setting, at some point in its long past, might have been modified, possibly was bezel set (from other examples). The setting measures 10.3mm and rises 7.2mm off the finger. There’s also a lovely silver rim underneath the stone, which makes me think it could even be Georgian or early Victorian.

The most unique diamond ring I’ve ever come across, a beautiful one to wear and enjoy today, stacks lovely with a band or one that you can definitely wear solo. In wonderful antique condition, definitely the loveliest treasure to add to your collection.
