The most beautiful antique snake ring set in solid 18ct yellow gold and dating from the Victorian era.

Featuring a lovely bright old cut diamond that is approximately .30ct, it is wonderfully chunky with a high crown and takes centre stage on the snake’s head making it highly noticeable. There’s a tiny nibble, seem under x10 magnification, you would have no idea it’s there as it is completely eye clean and noted for accuracy.

I love how beautifully the coils go round three times making this ring quite a statement and a great presence on the finger. With a beautiful golden patina, the width is 17mm from the top of the head down to the last coil. The cutest little expression, with a slightly open mouth, there is no damage to any of the sweet details on the face of the snake. In very good antique condition with just age related wear. Feels completely lush to wear, as it is solid gold and a hefty weight of just under 10g. Tactile and comforting at the same time, you will love wearing this ring for years to come.

Size: fits best around J.5/US5 (will resize)

Fully hallmarked, Birmingham Assay, 18ct, 1876

Weighs 9.7g

Serpent snake rings became popular in the Victorian era, after Prince Albert gifted the young Queen Victoria with a serpent ring during their courtship. The snake came to symbolise an enduring love and friendship with its coiled shape representing eternity.

A wonderful example and I’m thrilled to be able to offer you this.
