A truly wonderful necklace this featuring a stunning whiskey coloured citrine in the shape of a heart.
Originally a Victorian brooch, this witch’s heart has been expertly converted into a beautiful wearable necklace, without compromising any of the details. The colour of the citrine is a deep amber orange that glows from within. It is thickly set in 9ct rosey gold, featuring tiny little claws going all around the stone. The bar measures 45mm wide and is decorated with swirly leaf foliage featuring two balks of gold on either side. Set with a fine, solid 9ct gold chain, the conversion has been beautifully made to showcase the original piece and Victorian craftsmanship. In excellent antique condition. Sits perfectly on the neck too!

“Witch's heart" jewellery, particularly brooches or pendants, got its name from the distinctive, often asymmetrical heart shape, with the little tail swerving to one side. Originally worn as a talisman against evil spirits and later as a symbol of “bewitching love”!
