A wonderful antique silver paste extender, that was originally a brooch.
Skilfully converted, it features star set paste that is cut like old cut diamonds, with high, puffy crowns. Chunky and large, almost the equivalent of 2ct each, the paste measures around 6.5mm and is star set along the silver bar. There’s a few abrasions to the surface of the paste and age related wear to the bar, but nothing detrimental and the paste is bright and eye clean. A lovely versatile piece of jewellery, the silver bar measures 50mm in length, with two silver shepherds hooks either side, making the total length 58mm across and 5mm thick.
