What a beauty! This is a fabulous antique diamond encrusted pendant in the shape of a hammer with a horseshoe wrapped around it. It is set in 9ct yellow gold and silver and dates from the Victorian era, circa 1880s.
A wonderful pin to pendant conversion, the body of the hammer is set with thirteen high crowned, chunky old cut diamonds. Full of fire and character, each one unique and wonderful, they cover the length of the hammer which measures 37mm. The horseshoe is set with a further ten diamonds, all bright with amazing sparkle and presence. Of good colour and clarity, they are all well matched, no noticeable wear to note, and are open backed so perfect for daily wear. It is fitted with a 9ct gold hidden bail large enough to fit thicker chains if preferred, looks great stacked or solo. A original antique piece steeped in symbolism, with the hammer representing strength and resilience and the horseshoe luck and protection this is a beautiful piece, carefully converted into a very wearable pendant. Would look absolutely stunning alone or stacked with other charm/pendants in your collection.
This is the coolest piece ever and very unique! The old cut diamonds are beautiful and so sparkly. The conversion from brooch to a pendant was thoughtfully done and the hidden bail is perfection. I love this piece so much, thank you!
